Schrader 28206 TPMS Sensor Programming Procedure

When new tire pressure sensors are installed, they must be registered to the vehicle.

1. Engage the parking brake.

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON/RUN/ACC with the engine off.

3. Using the MENU button in Driver Info Center, select the Vehicle Information Menu. Then use the thumb wheel to scroll to the Tire Pressure Menu Item screen and press SET/CLR to start the TPMS registration process.

4. Press the SET/CLR button again to confirm your selection. The horn will honk twice to signal that the vehicle is now in TPMS relearn mode, and "TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE" will display.

5a. Starting with the driver's side front tire, activate the TPMS sensor by inflating or deflating the tire for 5-10 seconds or until the horn honks which may take up to 30 seconds. The horn honk confirms that the driver's side front sensor has been registered to the vehicle.

If this is a 2012+ model vehicle, a triggering tool may be required if the deflation method does not work.

Place the antenna of the triggering tool against the tire's sidewall at the valve stem's location.

5b. If using an ATEQ VT5, hold down the center button until the horn sounds.

5c. If using an ATEQ VT15, press the left button, wait until the horn sounds, then press the right button.

The horn sound lets you know that the vehicle just registered that sensor.

6. Continue on to the passenger's side front tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.

7. Next, move to the passenger's side rear tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.

8. Finishing with the driver's side rear tire, repeat the procedure in Step 5. The horn honks twice to confirm that the final sensor has been registered and that the vehicle has just exited TPMS relearn mode.

9. Turn ignition switch to LOCK/OFF.

10 Make sure all tires, including the spare (if equipped), are inflated to the vehicle's recommended inflation pressures.
